Collecting photographs (including video and sound-bytes) depicting scenes and people from Nigeria between the mid 19th century and 1980. You do not have to have photos to join.
This group is a discussion of the ART, CULTURES, CUSTOMS, TRADITIONS and ETHNICITIES that make up Nigeria and which may, or may not exist today but pre-date the formation of the modern independent political State. Members post photo/ video images, artists interpretations of historical events to stimulate both academic and lay commentary and discussion over ethnic interactions with colonial entities, and each other preexisting cultures of the peoples who make up modern-day Nigeria
The Nigerian Civil War lasted from 5 July 1967 to 15 January 1970 and resulted in approximately 100,000 military casualties and between 500,000 and 2 million civilian deaths. It is arguably the most important event in the evolution of Nigeria as a country and has reverberations which continue to this day.
In this group we share personal experiences, stories, photos, videos and other documents of the Nigerian Civil War. This Group was started in April 2011 as a conference, where panels of contributors examined the events that led to the war, the prosecution of the war and the war's after effects on individuals and communities in Nigeria. - Click on the yellow button to visit the group

1. NNP Gatherings and Events:
A repository for photographs, video and soundbyte documenting group/member activity, NNP Events and Gatherings outside of Facebook and records of the relationships that have formed as a result of interactivity within any or all of NNP's Social Media Groups
2. NNP Member activities - Individual or collective member social or community activity and achievement ( Photo, video, sound) - Members can share news from the localities that are of Interest to others
